    Default Heron in the fog

Herons are like pigeons in Oregon and I usually don't bother to photograph them.
However, while waiting for the fog to lift in a refuge this morning, I took this one.
I liked the hunkered down in the fog look.

Looks like a lonely, puzzled bird wondering what went wrong! But a nice intimate look at the west coast "pigeon". I like the pose and don't mind the slightly look-away HA. I like the sharp grass. It's pretty tight in the frame and I think the beak and forehead could use a bit more sharpening.

Real nice shot. I love the great feather detail, real nice light, I really like the grass around it.
    Well done.

Has a great mood/feel to it. Would like a bit more room all around. Fine detail and exposure.

I really like the etherial quality of the photo. I find the sharpness of the back feathers and soft chest feathers a bit out of balance.

Hmm... I just looked at the photo on another monitor, which makes my comment above to be nonsense. Very nice photo.
