    Default Brown Hooded King Fisher

A Brown Hooded King Fisher, sighted at Sth Luangwa, Zambia.
    50D
    400mm
    f/5.6
    1/640s
    ISO-800
    +0.7Ev
A 40% crop for eliminating a dense clutter of Mopani branches and dry leaves and the distance was also not favourable.
The bird looked very cute and beautiful to me.
Would appreciate advice for making it better through PP.

Hi Prabir, cool little fellow, and you have the colours spot on. I like how he is looking down the line of the perch. Is this a 40% crop, as the IQ is quite not there. It also seems you have tried to lighten the eye a little too much. Comp wise, here is how I would have cropped.

I agree with Stu's crop and his assessment regarding apparent work on the eye.
A bird I have yet to get a proper shot of - and I live in Africa

If you have another shot, I'd wait for more of a head turn. This would actually make the eye brighter naturally, depending on the light angle of course. I'm a big fan of the dorsal view, really shows the blue on the wings nicely.
