Really nice image Morkel. Just the right amount of backlighting. Nice composition. I wish for a bit more depth of field to get muzzle at base of whiskers tack sharp but that is a very minor nit. Would love to have this one in my portfolio,
    Gail

Nice and effective rim lighting and BG here Morkel, f/5.6 may have just been sufficient for DOF.

    Thanks for the comments folks...

Yep - I was still coming to grips with the 300mm prime lens and could definitely have stopped down some more...this young one came closer than I anticipated...

Nice light indeed. Exposure handled well with the backlight. Sharp where it needs to be. Well done. TFS

Nice rim lighting, though I am a little on the fence about impact of the shaded face.

Would be interesting to see with exposure right down and jus the rim lighting visible.

    Morkel,

Very nice indeed whilst there maybe a slight drop off in sharpness it does not bother me.

But on my monitor she looks just a tad too red, but lets face it everybody uses different monitors which reproduce colours in different ways.

A very soulful look Morkel, the rim light works well.

Would be interesting to see with exposure right down and jus the rim lighting visible.
Russell I thought that yesterday, but it doesn't really work IMHO as you need more rim light to give it form.

Something like this? I agree with Steve...needed a bit more rim-light
