So, I did a bunch of stuff to this.....Topaz Adjust, Topaz simplify, a little fract and then a little Orton blur! C&C welcome and wanted!

This is nicely composed and processed. I like the layered effect. It would be a lot of work, but my preference would be to have all the geese look like the ones at the edge of the water on the left in terms of Fractalius lines and color.
Dan, This is beautiful! I love the layers of colors and the fract. I might try for a teeny bit more detail in the geese. Nice job!!![]()
Lovely effects here, would have liked to see the orange foreground extend further to the right, but it does balance the top right hand side so I'm fine with that. Very nice.
Man oh man. I love this. Don't tell me that I need to get Topaz too!!! It looks like an illustration for a wonderful kids book. Are the birds Snow Geese? Where was the original created?

Thanks all! I will be tweaking this one further with your comments and suggestions in mind!
Artie, most of the birds are Snow Geese with a couple Pintail mixed in. The original capture (near full frame, BTW) was made at Colusa NWR in the northern central valley of CA. BTW, there is a male Falcated Duck being seen there now, a fourth CA record (I chased it, hence this and other images from this location). He is not very cooperative for photos, staying a hundred yards or so from the viewing area.
Thanks Dan. Good luck with the rarity.

Dan, this is gorgeous! I love the layers of color and the Topaz effect. It definitely looks like an illustration. I love it!![]()

This is very cool with those bright bands of color; 3 bands having elements being vertical and then the band of blue water and the geese being more horizontal, and a few geese breaking the pattern. It all comes together in great color and motion. Have you considered a crop eliminating the right side that fades away?
Hi Dan, this is very lovely! Beautiful treatment. My favorite part of this is the three geese in flight. Nice work!!!
