Wow!!! What a beautiful image...Super low angle, beautiful light, Sharp, beautiful BG and nice pose on this one...it does require slight CWW rotation.

Such a lovely image, Brendan. The water and BG, the pose, the light, just all comes together so nicely. I would like to see it with a bit more room above and to right. Wonderful job on this.

Love the light and colors I think the face and eye look a little soft you might want to do some selective sharpening on them and a bit more rotation.

I love the golds and the blues. The BG is one of the nicest I have seen in a while. A bit of CW rotation ( Sachin said CCW but I think it is a typo?) and a bit of sharpening and this is wonderful,

Great BG, feeding pose, and low angle. I agree with giving the face an additional round of sharpening, and for some more CW rotation.

Brendan, one heck of a shot. You nailed that perfect moment where the bird is picking the food. BG, colors, exposure...superb. Critical focus might have been on the legs. I prefer working at f/6.3 or f/7.1 when birds are that close(with higher iso if light isn't there)....when birds are moving, it is not always easy to put the AF spot on the eye. better to have DOF cover that error. And with that kind of super low angle, you will get blurred BG even if you stop down a bit.

Very Nice Brendan. beautiful light and the angle is superb.
I don't think it needs sharpening as much as a looser crop, The softness is appealing to me,
but maybe just cropped too tight, and lost some sharpness?

Thanks for the heads-up Brendan. This is a 100% worn juvenile Black-bellied Plover: heavy bill, white rear flanks, and a vestigial rear toe. Any golden-plover would have a small, dainty head, a stronger line over the eye, barring on the rear flanks, and no vestigial rear toe. Nice image BTW; love the tiny prey item.

Dito all of the above - love the pose and the low angle - very engaging - but sharpness is an issue. And BG is just great with the soft transition of colours.

Beautiful Brenadan. Love the great low angle and contact of the bill to the water. Sharpness noted
