Purple Sandpiper is one of the few Shore Bird we have in Norway in the winter. Data: 1D MK III, 500mmL, ISO 500, F 5,6, 1 / 125, Bean Bag, Lightroom, and a very wet and cold photographer ............
Grateful for the C and C.

Wonderful mood, Geir. Great connection with your subject. You've left plenty of room for the virtual legs, yet I find myself wishing for just a bit more room on the bottom, if you've got it.

I love this species Geir and you have shown it well. I can imagine the cold and dampness you experienced! Really nice exposure and detail on the bird, super low angle. Very nice water in front. I only wish the oof foreground did not hide the feet.

Wonderful shot. the low angle, head turn, details, exposure, the habitat, running water....so many things to like in this one. Your hard work paid off. Very well done, Geir.

Lovely low angle and I really like the habitat as you have shown it. The cool light is very effective in getting the cold message across.

Beautiful detail, wonderful colors, perfect HA. Bird stands out nicely against the cold winter scene. I like the pano crop, and only wish his signature orange legs were showing.

I like the feel of this image. The bird appear sharp and well exposed with a pleasing head angle. I also like the the low angle of capture. I agree with Grace. I don;t mind not seeing the legs but also find myself wishing for a little more space at the bottom. Thanks for sharing.

Super sharp with a perfect head angle. I love the field guide style image with the bird's body parallel to the back of the camera. The wave obstructing the belly was bad luck.... There is not enough room below for the virtual legs. Do you have a bit more below?

Hi Geir, super low perspective with a good HA. I do like the feather detail, sharp, and the water BG. Your repost works much better.

I especially like the mood in here. Sharp with lovely shooting angle and eye contact. Not seeing the legs weakens it IMO but still very nice.
