I have never seen a Kudu standing on a ternite mound before but I am sure it happens all the time.

Taken in Chikwenya concession, Zimbabwe 15th September 2011 early morning, cropped to remove branches etc.

Ken it's very interesting that these kudu use termite mounds, I have never witnessed this behaviour. It's a pity that the mound covers the Kudu's feet. Good light and colour TFS

Very impressive fellow Ken, with the dominance stance well depicted. He is coming up with a touch of a green cast, reflecting off all that light & vegetation perhaps?

Thanks everybody for your comments they are much appreciated.

    Vivaldo,

I think the Kidu was quite brave to go as high as he did and it was a pretty sharp summit, needed a well worn mound

    Marc,

Yes I see a little green in the JPEG, it is not so noticable in the original file, and is probly caysed by the "strange" light and the surrounding greenery

Ken, nice stance captured. I was also wondering about a bit of green cast on the Kudu's body also.

    Prabir,

It seems that I now have to check changes in colour after converting to SRGB, oh well

I've never seen it either .
I felt it was very "green" as posted, Ken, and hope you don't mind me having a crack at a colour adjustment (best to do in WB from RAW, of course ).
