    When I saw this guy in the tidal pool I knew i was going to love the way the water color compliments the color on the Heron

    1DMKIII, 500 f/4 IS, 1/2500 at f/ 5.6, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered +2/3, ISO 400, Tripod, Cropped to vertical from Horizontal and Canvas added to top.

    That's an incredible BG Don. The low angle really created the shot here. Nice foot lift and great techs.

    Love that raised foot and the pose. The slight sidelight works well here. Might be a tad oversharpened....

    Sweet image Don! Have never seen this bird but I feel image can be enhanced a bit more - here is a repost with some slight cooling filter, boost in colour saturation, some S/H and some brightness adjustment. Doesn't look over sharpened to me.
