Hi...I'm Wendy from Upstate New York. I enjoy both nature and urban photography, and in the last year have become passionate about bird / waterfowl photography. We have a couple of lovely wildlife / bird refuges within an hour of my home and I've been spending a lot of time there practicing my skills. I have a Canon Rebel Xsi, and a 300mm f/4L lens, with a 1/4 extender, that I've been using for my bird photography. Up until now, I've used the consumer 18-200mm lens for general photography, but based on the excellent advice I received this week on the Photography Gear forum, I just convinced my husband to buy me the 70-200mm f/4 L IS lens for my birthday! When I'm not trying to hone my photography skills, I'm a professor / research psychologist at our local medical school here in Syracuse. But I'd rather be shooting photos! I'm so glad I found BPN: I'm looking forward to uploading my shots to get your critiques, and learning from all of you. This seems like a wonderful, supportive community!
