    Default Christmas Zoom Blur

I went out this evening photographing Christmas displays in the community where I live. It was fun, but I got bored after a while and started playing around with blurs. This is pretty much right out of the camera, just a little levels adjustment.

A small town near us lights up the main street and part of some others with densely strung lights, top to bottom, and no adjacent buildings has the same color as the one next to it. Believe it, or not, I almost went out this evening to take some photographs, and I was going to do some zoom blurs. Honest. Tomorrow evening is supposed to be a bit warmer, so I decided to do it, then. Now, I'm for sure going to do it.

You got a great zoom effect. It's very nice -- but surprising -- that the blurs are superimposed on some fairly unblurred outlines. If i think about it, I might figure out why. Whatever the reason, I like it. I also like that the zoom lines in the upper third of the image vary in length. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Maureen, Cool and different! I like the zoom blur and the fact that you can still see the house outline. Very nicely done.

Maureen, Very different. I like it! As Dennis said, hose outlines through the zoom blur give the image a context. Works really well. Good stuff!

Very cool, Maureen, and way to break out of the norm and experiment. There's a nice balance between the house details and the rays of the zoom blur. Good results for being straight out of camera, look forward to more.

Pretty wild Maureen! Glad to see you remembered to have some fun with the lights! Seeing this brought a smile to my face and it worked out quite nicely for you with the outline of the house!

Very nice blur Maureen. I too love the outline of the houses.

The composition and colors in the thumbnail attracted me to this image. Your zooming worked well. I like the results.
