    Default On Frozen Pond

The extreme cold in Bosque( minus 7 with 8 inches of snow) made for some tough shooting conditions . Not to mention that the frozen crane pools kept 99% of the birds away. Very few oportunities , but our group still had a blast and managed to produce some fine images.

It is a dandy looking photo. It really shows what a tough life it can be for these birds. Lovely color and nice bit of fg to set the stage. Quite a bit of dof so must have been a shorter lense.

very nice work, it doesn't look that impressive at 800 pixels but at 1600 pixels and larger or when printed large I am sure it looks very nice. I like the mood

Beautiful mood, nicely captured. Agree it's a wall hanger. Congrats on visualizing and executing it.

Even though the temp and conditions were very winter-like I'd still be tempted to raise the colour temp a bit. Having said this, I love the image as presented, and I really like the tall grasses along the top left of the frame. If you have more room at right to prevent the right-most crane from standing so close to the edge that would be great.
