Very cool looking bird, Gary, good HA, great looking colors and detail. Nicely captured considering the circumstances.

Very nice shooting angle and BG. Colors and sharpness look great. Just a tad tight by the tail and a bit more DOF maybe f11 to get the legs sharper!

Nice low angle, just too bad about the hidden feet (but you already recognized that). Good BG with that low angle, and the colours look great. I'm finding tthe image a tad dark in some areas, especially the face and lower part of the body. You could try experimenting with a midtones adjustment, or some selective dodging of those areas. Perhaps toning down the blown highlights on the bill with a 20-30% opacity clone stamp. Good details, and love the alert pose...all-in-all a solid image!

Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions. I did a levels adjustment to brighten the overall image (it looks more like I remember it now with that bright mid-day sun) and cloned the beak to reduce the hot spots as Daniel suggested.

Very good repost. That red is indeed red and that bill is indeed massive! Great close-up of a bird many of us don't see very often.

Nice repost of a beautiful image. Nice detail in the reds which can be hard to do.

Beautiful picture. I like the low angle. Is comfortable with that some of the feet are missing.
