    Default Puffin Posing for Portrait

From Machias Seal Island last June. Taken from blind at mid-day. Light had been harsh, but a passing cloud helped on this one. Cropped from horizontal.

Hi Bill, excellent exposure on the Puffin, pose and HA look good, as does the sharpness. Yep the cloud certainly showed up in time, as in this, it doesnt look like harsh light at all.

    Bill:

I love their little clown faces, well displayed here. Nice perch, like how the foot wraps around the rock.

Framing a little snug, would prefer a sliver more on the left.

    Cheers

I like the pose. A passing cloud can be your best friend sometimes! I'd like to see a bit more room on both the right and left. And I might darken the BG to help the bird stand out better.

I like the vertical composition as is and I really like the exposure on the blacks and whites. Love the perch. On my monitor I see a small amount of bluish cast in the whites.

The cloud allowed you to capture a very fine image. Great exposure.

Thank you all for your comments. I do think I cropped this one just a little snug.

Another great Puffin shot Bill. I really like the HA on this one, gives it a shy looking pose. Really like the look back pose as well. All around a great photo Bill.
