At Lake Nakuru , Kenya . The sheer number of flamingoes at the Lake was a treat to the eye . There were a lot of the storks and pelicans too who would make sorties . Tried to isolate this yellow billed stork from the flamigoes in the BG .

    Lens : Canon 600mm f4 IS

    Shutters : 1/640

    Rakesh:

congrats on the 1000 post mark milestone.

I like the pose, angle in frame, exposure on the stork.

The birds in the BG are a bit distracting, but does give a sense of the environment.

You might be able to crop tighter to eliminate some of the BG, and selectively lighten the stork just a bit to get him to pop a bit more. I would try adjusting the brightness first, and crop second.

Using a larger f/stop to reduce your DOF would have been a viable option.

    Cheers

    Randy

Congrats Rakesh on 1000th post...I agree with Randy about the birds in BG being distracting...otherwise it is a fine image and the raised foot is plus.

Hi Rakesh, congrats on your first milestone, and may you go on for many more. Lovely breeding colour shown on the YB Stork ( when their wings show that pinkish colour, they are in breeding ) You couldnt have captured a better pose, and I like the feather detail too. You have done exceptionally well to isolate this guy from the bunch of flamingo's.

Lovely pose and great looking water. I like the composition as is and perhaps a bit more selective contrast and sharpening on the stork will get a bit more separation from bg. I'll bet it was a wonderful experience.
