This image was created in the morning at 7:27am in Bosque del Apache NWR, San Antonio, NM during the Bosque IPT of Arthur Morris. This sandhill crane was leaving the north crane pool on its way to the cornfields for breakfast.
The image was created with the Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens at 800mm, and the EOS-1DMIV. ISO 400. Evaluative metering: 1/1600 sec. at f/5.6 set manually, on a tripod.
I really like the shadow print on the left wing and the color layers of the background. I would like to have your opinion with respect to the contrast on the bird: do you think it is okay; too much contrast or not enough?
Clemens, good wing position, and I like the clear outline of the shadow on the far wing. Colours and sharpness are tops, and I feel the contrast is just fine as is.
Clemens, the wing position is nice, like the v shape.
Nice flight angle, eye contact and feather details. I also like the background.
I'm not a big fan of a shadow on the bird but the nice pattern makes it interesting this time.
