After traveling some this past fall I am now home-sweet-home with new images to process.

This barwing is a Himilayan bird I photographed in Bhutan, Nov. 2011. These birds are found in fast-moving flocks foraging for insects and small fruits. This image shows the bird in his environment of dense vegetation, making the background unavoidably busy.

    ISO 2000, f5.6, 1/100, exp. comp. +2/3

    All c & c most appreciated

Certainly a sense of its environment. Nice pose and eye contact - I would try cropping some off the bottom and I would assume this a fair crop as IQ is so so. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Bhutan.

I like the bird and the face is nice and sharp. I agree about the busy bg but I guess unavoidable. Would have been nice if the whole bird were sharp as well. Darn
