This cowgirl is the real deal. She runs about 100 cattle (mostly longhorn) with help from her dog (appropriately named dog).

    Simplify.

I really like the Simplify effect on this. And the action you caught -- rider's arm and horse's head -- add a lot. Great feeling of depth, too. I'd have been inclined to bring back the eyes of the horse and dog at least partially and to have cropped some from the right and top for composition, but it's quite striking just the way it is.

Mitch, This is too cool! I love it and it's perfect for the theme. Agree about the dog's eyes. I do wish the horse were slightly back in the frame but this image has fun written all over it. The dog's name is priceless!

The Simplified look and colors are just outstanding this shot. The spire in the background, the dog and holding the hat in the wind, just puts this one over the top for me...................two thumbs way up!

Nice composition, Mitch. Great view and colors. Nice use of simplify. Agree on the bringing back the eyes and setting the horse back slightly. Fun image for sure!

Wonderful to see a photo of a woman cowhand and rancher. Women have owned and run ranches from the beginning of ranching in the West, but don't often get credit. I also like her grey hair! Woman, horse and dog--in a western landscape--wonderful.
