    Default Purple Sandpiper

    Found this purple sandpiper when I looked over the edge of the rocky shore beside the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. This photo was actually taken almost straight down, but the sandpiper was leaning out over the water, making it look like I was at eye level. In any case, I liked the surf crashing in the background. Hope some of you enjoy this one.

    Taken with my 30D, 100-400 lens at 400mm, 1/2000 sec at F6.3, ISO 400.

    A beautiful bird. Have never seen one. You managed a nice presentation too. No negatives for me!

    Lyall, very nice image of your purple Sanpiper...:) I made a couple of enhasements to your image, I hope you like...:D I cropped to the left of the frame, thus off centering the bird, also increased contrast just a wee bit and kicked up the hue just a tid bit and did just a little sharpening...:D:D

    Cool image. I like the crashing wave in the BG. The repost looks over sharpened to me.
