There's a learning curve, but I find it an absolutely essential tool for serious photo editing in PS.

I use the medium sized one, and I am fine with the corded version...never needs batteries!

I use the medium wired version. It took a while to get comfortable with it, but I love it. I looked at the large version, but it was too big and demanded too much hand transit.

My older Wacom tablet just died and I am suffering wrist and shoulder pain just using a mouse! Can't wait for my new Wacom Intuos 4 medium wired to arrive. I think you made the right choice, Steve.

What's the difference between the 3 and the 4? Enough to warrant the extra $$?

I used to have the 3 and consider the 4 to be a worthwhile upgrade. In particular the 4 has a panel of buttons and a central dial on the side of the tablet; these buttons are programmable (as in the 3) but now you can label each button in software and the hardware will display the label with LEDs. Very handy! I can't remember what the other differences were, as it's been 1-2 years.

I have the Intuos 4 medium tablet and for serious post production work I find it invaluable. Not using it to its fullest potential as, like in many things, once I had the basic buttons and menus set up I didn't go back and refine them.

Default Wacom Intuos4 as a part of workflow

Can you tell me how this tablet works into your work flow? Is this used with your PC monitor? Does the tablet work with photo editing software on your computer?

Thanks for posting this thread, Steve. I've tried it and found I was uncoordinated, but think as I practice it will be easier than using the mouse. I would love to hear more discussion on its use too.

I have tried it and "think" I like it..by "think", I have a lot of editing on older images that I am doing with some new techniques (in particular Nik Software). So in the interest of speed I am doing it the old way..but pretty sure when this barrage gets done, I will spend time with it and use it a great deal
