Due to other photography related endeavors birds have taken a back seat since June. One from last Sunday.

Light was horrible so as a result I increased the sat more then I normally wold. Not sure if I bumped it up too much.

MkIII, 1/1000, f/5.6, ISO 1000, 700mm, HH. Removed a couple of falling errant feathers.

Boy, those falling feathers really make this shot Mike! Like the composition here. Good eye contact too. I'm not seeing much detail in the head feathers though.

Doug, thanks for pointing the lack of detail in the head. Revisited the raw file and I can eeek out more detail. Ill start over. I'm a little rusty bird wise but back in the saddle.

Hi Mike, comp works well, and the saturation looks fine from here. Yep, the disgarded feathers do add to the image, and I would like to know what the perch is.

Mike this is really beautiful image ...
looks like a regular perch for them and surprise how you got it at eye level. I loved it thoroughly sharpness, expo, saturation

just beautiful as is if not over powered the perch for others.

Love the story here, Mike. The falling feathers really work. I think you did well considering the conditions. The bird's eye and beak are nice and sharp. Doesn't look too saturated to me.

Did the eagle capture the prey itself? No re-post of the image necessary. Outstanding work.
