This shot was taken in 2010, I have posted previous shots taken at this place and time - but not this image. I have processed this one in a different way to the ones submitted last year and would be interested to read your views.
The buzzard is dining on a road kill pheasant I had found. The shot was taken from my hide which was located in a local field.
    All C &C welcome.

    Jonathon,
Very nice up close and personal unobstructed image of this bird dining on its meal, F/4.5 works well here focusing attention on the bird and it's prey. IQ and details are excellent. Perhaps a tad tight all around for my tastes but like it allot as presented.

Love this one. The angle to the bird and its prey and the head position are all ideal. Processing looks very good. No flash? I am fine with the framing as is. Love the placement of the bird's foot on the prey's body and those few handsome pheasant feathers so nicely positioned. I will be back in a second with my only suggested improvement.

The head looks a little brighter and more detailed, although very, very subtle. You have to see the images next to each other to notice. Let me guess, you ran Nik Color Efex 4.0, detail extractor filter at about 40% with a hide all mask and only revealed the head and the shoulders of the bird.

Right answer--good eye, but wrong method: Tim Grey Dodge and Burn. If you saw them together one after the other the difference would be obvious.

Thank you for C&C and thank you Artie for taking time to do the adjustment - it does look better, I will have a go myself. On the original I did brighten the eye a little using a quick mask, it didn't occur to me to adjust the plumage but it was a good idea.

Hey Jon, great sighting and capture, and I like the perspective. Good DOF for F/5, and you have brought out the feather detail nicely. Lovely OOF BG behind the buzzard, and Artie's repost does bring out the head and eye a little better.
