    This baby hippo was not yet used to the Red-billed Oxpeckers.
    Taken late afternoon in lovely golden light, the colour depicted here is as was.

    Marc,

    Great capture in great light, I too have never seen anything like it. a "moment" if ever there was

    Although they do not bother me the two Hippo backs might be considered by some to be distracting

    I really like this image, it has so much going for it..Love the light and open mouths, but the birds take it over the top.

    One of your very best images posted here to date, Marc...just getting this kind of hippo action out of the water is special, and you've done it in great light and with a youngster too!!

    Nice shot Marc. Has a great 3-D quality to it and the sheer look of terror on the hippo's face brought on by the "attack" of his tormentors brought a smile to mine.
