I like the desaturated look, Judy. It really works with these colors. If it were mine, I'd open up the shadows a bit. However, if you prefer the dark tones, I'd suggest at least looking at lightening the bark a bit so the texture and gray color -- which really is good with the other colors in the image -- show up. There would still be plenty of contrast with the leaf that's on it.
Beautifully designed and processed. Love the colors and the textures and the central lighting.

Hi Judy, I vote for the original post. Great arrangement of the elements. The desaturated look is perfect for this one.
Thumbs up. I didn't anticipate this, but my emotional response to the image is quite different in the re-posted version. Part of that might be because of some subconscious reaction to things associated with darkness, but I don't think so. More likely, I think it's because with the reduced contrast between the center and the rest of the image, it's easier for me to explore and enjoy the rest of it.Originally Posted by Judy Howle

Judy, Another beautiful leaf arrangement. What I like most about this is the way you chose to make it more about the textures and patterns and less about the color. They both have their merit! Nice job.
