Default W H Vulture and Fish Eagle scrap Pt1

    Attached Images Attached Images

    8.35am
We chanced upon a White-headed Vulture doing battle with an African Fish Eagle over an Impala foetus that a mother had aborted earlier.
Would have preferred the FE not flying away from me.

For me, this one is all about the action - the incoming dominant vulture with talons extended, and the eagle fleeing. I think it's appropriate that the eagle is flying away. It's also nice to see the habitat and setting for this encounter. Very nice Marc. Detail in the birds is not high but its good that you caught the head of the eagle.

Agree with Dan...this image is all about action and inclusion of habitat is nice...IQ isn't top but still a keeper.

Yes, quite true......should have stated that fact, it's a story and action image first, quality second.

Hi Marc, Yep, this is africa - survival of the fittest, and in this, two of the larger birds fighting for their next meal. Great show of the wingspan from the vulture.

Great action shot. Nits have been mentioned but I wonder why the IQ didn't hold up. Is it SS? Image is a bit dark as well. I would be interested to see what the experts think

Dramatic shot, good timing, pity the vulture isn't quite sharp. The plumage also looks a little dark/heavy to me - possibly a tad too much Blacks or heavy contrast??

Awesome sighting and interaction...IQ is not great and the overall image could be lightened a bit. TFS Marc!

Marc, I am fine with the eagle flying away. great moment, loved the action, nice shooting angle, nice BG, good enough seaparation of the two birds, nice wing spread on the vulture.....in short, lots of good things.

I think the main issue here is critical focus. It seems to be in front of the eagle. Since the distance is high, it has somewhat covered the birds but they are not as sharp as they would have been with perfect focus. that is what I honestly feel.

    Marc,

Great moment captured here, but the IQ has not held up under conversion, what a pity
