    This species of heron lives in the Amazonian lowlands and is quite shy. I had never seen one before my trip to Peru and it was a real treat to photograph.

    What a beautiful looking heron...Looks like it has longer beak than the green heron we find in NA...Lovely capture...If reflection is clean I would have included it in frame but also liked it as presented.

    What amazing colours and very sharp. I like the leaves but I think I would tone them down a little, I feel they are grabbing a little too much attention.

    Terrific photo Glenn. You get a real feel for the Amazonian "jungle" environment. Nice and sharp for that SS, perfect exposure and detail. Great species too!

    Beautiful subject exposed and composed very well. The leaves are a major distraction as they are. I think toning them down would make a huge difference.

    Such deep colours on this guy, and the bill lenght is amazing!! Like Dan I love the "jungle" feel this image has. The "third leg" in the reflection does catch my eye though...

    What a beautifully coloured Heron, makes ours seem quite drab by comparison, great image, no nits from me
