Hello all, Terry Bridges from Woodinville, Wa. a small rural hamlet roughly 20 miles NE of Seattle, joining today.
Have been an amateur shooter since way back in the film days of the 60s and 70s. Current day title is Director of Technology for a law firm in Seattle. I got seriously back into shooting in 2008 when I made my first trip to Europe and have not stopped since.
Recently published by National Geo in "Visions of Earth", they also have an image online in the Photo "tips" on shooting Macro's. BBC Earth has also published images and I have images at Birds and Blooms. The firm I work for also used me to produce most of the images for a "re-branding" of our "look and feel" this year.
Gear is all Canon with primary body the 5D Mark II ...full array of "L" glass and accessories. Strong skills in CS5 and an eye for Art, so some work I produce lies in the gray area between photography and art.
Love to shoot wildlife as well as macros, but enjoy just getting out and shooting what is around me. Will begin to retire from full time work in 2012 and that will afford me more time to travel and shoot in a wider radius.
I am excited to find this community, and look forward to many exchanges with all of you.
A big welcome to BPN. This is a great place to learn and grow as a nature photographer, and to help others do so as well!
We have forums for all different types of nature photography, so be sure to check out the Out of Box Forum for when you need an outlet for your particularly artistic interpretations of nature!
Welcome to BPN, Terry. Huge congratulations on having your work published in the new NatGeo book. I hope you'll post it in the General Photography Forum so that we can all see it!
