One more Grebe photo, to me the best one.
The sand disappeared in the sky reflection.

Lovely photo Dan. I really like the nice soft light, colors, pose and the feather detail on neck is a real eye catcher. Bird looks very relaxed and nice to see the leg as displayed. Just needs to printed.

Dan, your low perspective has paid off nicely here, and I like how we can see the leg visible above the water. That water is so, so calm and I would liked to have seen what the rest of the reflection looks like. An opportunity well used.

Thanks Stuart, but that is not water (well it is, but just wet sand).
I looked at these photo's again this afternoon, and it took a second look to realize how the water on the sand
Had completely reflected the sky and bird.
The Grebe is laying on the beach.

Oooh, I like this one. The details in the black are really good and I like that I can see the foot.

Absolutely beautiful, Dan. Yes, a full reflection in that wet sand would have been nice, but I think this is just about perfect as is. You sure had a great day with the grebes. Stunning images.
What camera body do you use by the way?

Really stunning, Dan. Exposure, sharpness, angle and light are great. It's simple and powerful, esp the way it is or appears to be sitting on ice.

Dan, beautiful shot. shooting angle is just right...low but still high enough to get the reflection. details, exposure, colors...has it all.
