    Default Killarney's Granite Ridge Trail

Sorry for my absence lately folks. I have been very busy over the last few weeks, somewhat wiped out, and my bad back has been acting up. Here is an older image from Ontario's Killarney Provincial Park along the Granite Ridge Trail. I don't quite recall how I processed this one, but I did use Topaz Adjust 5.

    Look forward to comments.

I really like the perspective and composition. However, it's only by it's position that the car is getting my attention. It -- and the two foreground trees would play a more important role if the rest of the image were processed with less detail. If it were mine, I'd also subdue that fallen birch (?). It's light color is grabbing my eye, and it almost looks like it's going through the car -- perhaps partly because the lighter color/higher contrast effectively move it forward as well as because of where it is with respect to the car.

Part of the appeal of the image is wondering how in the world the car ended up where it did. I've never found an old car in the woods. Poison ivy, yes. A dilapidated hot rod, no.

I hope you're feeling better, soon.

This is very cool looking, Andrew. Nice effect and well composed, love the combination of rust and moss on the old roadster. Dennis makes some good suggestions, but I also kind of like how the car is beginning fade with decay back into the woods. I especially like the rusted frame parts on the left front, and how they almost look like tree roots. Nice work!

    Andrew,

I like this a lot. I think you captured a great perspective on the car, the wide angle really accentuates those great old rust fenders. Did you get a look at the make of the car? Dennis makes a good point on the birch behind the car. I kind of like the grittiness to the whole thing, so for my taste the processing works. Here's the thing, that tree almost in the middle, might fall into that category of appearing to split the image. I could argue this one both ways........the car leaning up against it helps take some of that away. If it were mine, I might see how it looks without the tree....... I still like the image and the feel of it. The processing fits the feel of the scene.

That's a neat way of looking at it.

Andrew, Nice to see you back-feel better, get some rest. I love the details and the slowly decaying car. I like the placement of the car and the fender. I like the idea of evicting the tree but it isn't deal breaker for me.

Hi Andrew, I too love the perspective.... and I like the concept of the decaying car! I could go either way with the fallen tree... for me, the diagonal tree adds to the perspective. Nicely done!

Thanks all for the comments, much appreciated. I'll try to subdue the fallen birch...it is laying right across the back of the car. I also have some alternate comps of this car where the tree growing bedside the car is less noticeable. I will try to post one of them in the next few days for comparison. Thanks again.

Jay, I don't have a clue what make of car this is. There is nothing left to indicate such.

Love, love, love the look and the basic image design but not the birch tree through the head!

Awsome processing here, Andrew. I could see toning the birch down somewhat. What appeals to me most, is the way the dilapidated old car with its green/blue tones appears to be animated, and cunningly trying to veil itself in the landscape.
