    Default A Blue Goose

One from the Bosque a couple of weeks ago. The BGs really make these images. Cloned a blade of grass off the bill and also a sliver of mountain in the URC.

Fabulous image with superb background. The early morning purple cast in the sky works well against the mountains. Wing span fully sharp at the down-stroke, and plenty of depth of field for the wing span.

(now if this species would just do a ternlike head-shake after liftoff from bathing )

Man, that guy needs to see a dentist!Looks like he has a mouthful of cavities!
Lovely image and you are right in saying that the BG makes this picture-soft mauve and oranges look beautiful and unusual. Tack sharp and lovely full downstroke. No nits from me,
    Gail

Doug, definitely one of the best I've seen. The narrow field of view of the long focal length does a great job here with the BG. and superb job as always handholding and exposing perfectly. dof, colors, wings, sharpness....just stunning.

Great looking capture, Doug, nice details, and awesome BG colors. Looks a little like orange and grape sherbet.

This color form is rare at the best of times, getting one in flight, priceless. Well done, sharp, spot on exposure and composition. I remember Bosque fondly and hope to return soon. Well done Doug.

Doug, you have nailed the wing position nicely in this, and your exposure is spot on. Your ss has resulted in good overall sharpness, and that BG is so, so sweet. Very well captured.

You mention how your Bosque BG's make your images. I have the same at my favourite location in the Pilanesberg nature reserve, so I understand where you are coming from. Cheers.

Stunning background, wonderful wing position, detail, exposure. He seems so bent on his destination that I don't miss the lack of eye contact.

BG colors don't get much better.
The purple goes really well with the bird, and very nice wing positions.
