    Shot this one in low light on tripod early morning . BG is natural . Could not do much about the hidden tail behind the perch tried different angles to include the tail this ones the best i could get with a good BG.


    Shutter speed 1/50
    Aperture F/4
    ISO 800
    Lens 600MM L IS USM
    Camera body 1D Mark II N
    On Tripod

    Beautifully detailed, my only suggestion is that at this magnification I think you need a smaller aperture.

    With the smaller aperture the speed would have reduced below 1/50 !!

    How about increasing ISO - little noise with that camera.

    Very sharp at that ss and focus looks spot on. too bad about the tail but not to be had. I really like the nice soft light and resulting colors of the bird.

    Great details (even borderline oversharpened in areas) and lovely colours. A bit tight in the frame, and I would be tempted to tone down the URC a bit. Perch is large for this subject, but we don't always choose where the birds land.
