Not really, these remarkable antelope have the ability to rotate their ears in almost any direction.

I knew there could be a catch here .
I love portraits of these guys simply because they normally don't linger long enough for you to get close enough...

Another repost by me - did some selective dodging and burning - burned highlights and midtones on BG, dodged shadows and midtones on the antelope...

Cute looking one, Ken and interesting pose with ear tucked back. Excellent sharpness and detail, those long lashes are a nice touch. I'm fine with either version, but would be tempted to use NR or maybe a little blur on BG to smooth it out a little more.

Very nice Ken, showing good detail and overall colour. The double lashes are most interesting and can't say I've noticed before.
Prefer Morkel's RP for the steenbok and your OP for the BG

    Morkel,

I had to open up both side by side in PS to spot any major differences, the Steenbok seems lighter in your version and you also seem to have dulled down some of the lighter patches in the BG, to be perfectly honest I prefer the richer tones of mine, but thanks for trying

    Brendan and Marc,

I have to confess to never noticing the double lashes before either, and find that it is odd that they are only really noticable on one side. Thanks for your comments

Ken - interesting about the lashes. Nice detail and sharpness. For me though, the missing ear is a negative. The same way you like to see 2 eyes, I prefer to see 2 ears on a head -on portrait.

    Rachel,

Persnally I have never seen a "one-eared" Steenbok before, in my view this makes this more interesting than a standard portrait.

I also thought it maybe interesting for others to find out about this amazing ability.
