This is one of my rare winter images from a past life in the land of ice and snow. The only thing that i miss is images like this of the eagles on the Wisconsin River. This image was shot on slide film and scanned on my slide scanner, during my learning to use it phase which was never completed.

Modifications in CS4 and Topaz included; Topaz Adjust 5 and Lens Effects. It was purposely softened and color enhanced, in the processing of the image, to give the appearance of a painting.

    Enjoy!

This does look like a painting, Mark, and I like the simplicity of the composition. Like the softness, but wishing for a little more detail on bird. Really like the lines and pastel coloring of the trees in BG. It looks like their is a trace of their reflection in the middle ground, and wondering if more of it could be brought out somehow.

Mark, You achieved your goal, it does have a soft painterly look. I like the rich colors. Brendan makes a good suggestion regarding the bird.
