Dan,
Real nice look at this species, love the topside and angle of the bird to you, great eye contact as well
Dan
This is one brilliant image Dan. Love the eye contact. Just tried some thing here. i added some canvas to the left and the top and bottom. and just adjusted the darks and brights on the bg a little. pls do let me know if it works for you.

Ramesh, thanks for taking the time to look and work on it and it looks good.
I just run noise reduction on the BG, I have been hesitant to do more as I have messed up
A lot of photos in the past trying to do more.
I appreciate and like your repost.

Great pose, wing position and nice sharp detail with good exp..>I would like to see more space left Nicely done!
Hi Dan
Very nice capture, but too tight for my tastes in your original post & even Ramesh's re-post requires a bit more more space.
BTW, this is a Glaucous-winged Gull. Look at the dark grey primaries & reddish pink eye ring. These would be black & yellow (respectively) on Herring Gull.
Cheers: Wayne
Nice and sharp with lovely pose. Here is a repost with a more balanced composition which allows the bird enough room to 'fly into'...![]()

Ofer's repost takes this over the top, the extra room adds a lot. Lovely image, wonderful EXP and sharpness. Really like that angle of the bird towards us.
Thanks for the coments and thanks Ofer for the repost.
I did have more room on the left and NX2 does not add canvas.
I probably need to get photoshop.
It does look better.

I like the original but the reposts with more room on the left really improves the image. Love the BG and the wing position and the angle of the bird. A lovely shot of a very ordinary bird,
