How come these guys never look as muddy as I do when I finish making their photographs?

Nice capture Ian. I like the detail in the feathers and the head angle. I very seldom get the feather detail as sharp as I would like.

Thanks, David. I have the same issue with feather detail, but it is my fault. I hate lugging my tripod around with me (I don't have a CF pod). I realize that I would increase my number of keepers if I would use my tripod regularly.

    Ian,

Nice shot, did you warm the image or use cloudy WB?
I like it, nice detail and a great eye maybe a tad tight but that's me. Why the 800 ISO was it low light. Normally ground shots can be too busy but these guys are always on the ground. Thanks, keep it up looking good!

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, the light was low. It wasn't warmed (is it too warm?).

Ian, nice shot. I've only seen KD when I don't have my camera with me. I like this shot very much. I don't think it is too warm, the detail is great and I like the "look" which implies, "Are you following me?". Nice work.
