    Its not often you get a subject nicely in the open in the Kruger National Park. This Shrike posed nicely for me and he showed off his catch. Removed some small branches coming out the bottom of the frame. The BG is natural as shot.

    Hand held from the car.

    I like this very very much. What a great looking bird - such a long tail. Lovley BG. I would try cropping some off the right and may be a bit off the bottom so the bird is not so central in the frame.

    Stuart,

    A bit like a London bus, you do not see any then two come along at once

    This is much better than mine as the light is more conducive , it is a surprisingly beautiful bird but rarely seen in a good open position

    The diagonal pose of the bird adds a lot to this wonderful image . Nice BG , Sharp bird !!!

    Tough to compose with such a long tail, but this is perfectly presented IMO. I don't find it centered at all with much more room in front of the face than behind the tail. Neat perch and very nice BG!

    What a cracker - great exposure lovely background and a brilliant pose. Love that plumage detail, I reckon this is a bit special!!

    Looking again you might be right Daniel - I guess why you are a super moderator and I'm not - still a hard one to compose for as the tail is so long.

    Good job on a difficult subject to photograph..Good exp, killer BG and nice sharp detail...Hard to compose but you have done about as well as one can
