Workshop: ST. Paul Island Island, Alaska

    D3, 600, ISO 1000, 6.3, 1/1600.

It was amazing to watch these little guys climb up the vertical cliffs.
They have tiny sharp claws that allow them to hold on to the lichen covered rocks. Background is the Bearing Sea.

Cool shot, I like the lichen covered rock and the little rock climber himself...Looks like he is about to fall off the rock..but if that happened, at least he has wings.

Now thats some holding on - those claws are tiny. Good exposure on this fellow, and I like how you have captured the outspread wing. The yellow lichen breaks up what would have been a dull rock.

What an amazing little bird and it is really well caught at just the right moment. A fine shot with excellent detail.

What a terrific little bird. I really like the eye and the white lightning stripe behind it. The color of the lichen and contrasting BG grey make this shot pop. The similar curve of the rock and the bird's body are really nice as well. Exposure is perfect,
    Gail
