    Default Short-eared Owl with mouse

I have a new categorie on my website: food, every specie I have with food is on it, so not just birds but also a fox wit a mouse, a snake with a fish and insects with their prey.

Like this one a lot. The only thing is that it has a magenta cast - at least on my laptop.

    thanks Allan,
yeah I heard that before, but it should be neutral, I will check it out and.

edit: I checked it out and couldn't get anymore magenta out of it, there was a bit much blue in the background though.

    kind regards

A great photo opportunity. Wish for more DOF and a bit more room all around. Agree with the cast. I like the blood on the talons.

Really cool feeding shot, if a little gruesome. I see the magenta cast too. I'm wondering why DOF falls off so quickly; I'd like to see more feather detail in the legs. Here's my attempt at correcting the cast.

Neat shot. The colors in repost look a bit better to me on a laptop. I am curious if this owl was baited and was very close so dof was pretty shallow.

Very nice photos on your website.

thanks for your comments, the colors in the repost are way better.

this owl wasn't baited, it was just hunting on its own and landed on the pole were I could photograph it from my car.
and it was close indeed, as you can see the head is sharp but this owl is sitting a bit forward and they are rather long so the dof isn't big enough (that's a pitty)

    kind regards
    Lesley
