This is the late nesting couple at Wako (on the island as you enter). As their nest is quite busy and a good distance from the boardwalk (for the proper light angle) I haven't paid much attention; but as I was leaving a few weeks back, I noticed the male flying in with a branch even though their chicks were well more than halfway grown. So, I quickly put on the extender and created a few images as they were still bristling with love!!! The aperture setting is unintended. In my excitement to get a picture, I must have hit the dial. This is a heavy crop (50%) to avoid the nest clutter and chicks below.
I always enjoy a good interaction photo, and this is what you have. Just a question though...did you apply noise reduction software? The details seem wiped smooth (see along the neck).

As I look at the raw file, I think the lack of detail is more due to the heavy crop. Wish I had more lens in this case but I just loved the juxtaposition of these two lovebirds.
