    Stuart,

    An interesing image that somehow looks "odd".

    I believe it is down to the great variance in colours in the BG, unfortunately I have no ideas what you could do to overcome this.

    It a nice shot Stuart but I think the processing is a little awry, suggest increase levels somewhat and possibly reduce the blacks a bit as a starter then consider curves or shadows/highlights.
    I like the pose very much, unfortunately the bird on the right is not quite so sharp as the one on the left, nevertheless I think you have a very interesting shot there, I think it is worthwhile spending a little more time on it.
