Hi Ken, I like this one. I think Waterbucks are photogenic and I like to see them in the long light grass. I´m not so found about the tongue and the background. Nice light and sharpness.

    Gregor,

Thanks for your comment, funnily enough it was the tongue that attracted me to this image

What do you think? I opened up the shadows and warmed it a bit.

I really like the composition, well exposed and sharp.
IMO the tan patch between the adult's antlers is a distraction. Other than that I don't mind the background, like the foreground and love the tongue!

    James,

Your repost is a dramatic improvement, thanks a lot

I see what you mean about the tan patch, so it is 2-1 for the tongue

James repost opening up the shadows looks good here Ken and I'm in favour of the tongue out also.

Seems like there is a long tongue to my opinion about the tongue

Ken - My nits coincided with James' and his repost has handled them well. I too think the tongue adds to the image.

A very nice shot Ken. I like the detail, poses, and the 3-D look. The OP was good, repost makes it even better.

Ken, I really like this one. Thes very attractive antelope are well posed in nice light, and I like the bulls eye backside visible on the youngster. Might do a selective blur on the sharp grasses in the LRC. James' repost rocks! Beautiful.

    The tongue rocks!
James' repost is a big improvement. What time of day was this shot at, Ken? Light seems a bit harsh?

I don't think we photograph these antelopes enough...

I'll drink to that, or antelopes in general.

It was shot at 14.25 so it was probably quite bright.

    Ken,

This is a very nice image, +tongue . The re-post is better. Composition wise, this screams to be a vertical and might work better.

Lovely image Ken, like the detail and also the warm colours in the repost work nicely
