Hi Jon, cool backlighting here, and I like the flying posture. Nice and sharp where it counts for your ss, and the owl is separated from the BG very well. The one thick blade of grass LRC keeps drawing my eye.

Sweet shot here! Really like the environment, the back lighting and the amount of detail on the shaded side. Great job.

Beautiful image the wonderful backlighting makes the image for me. Agree with Stu on the blade of grass i would just tone it down a bit.

Looks like prime hunting grounds. Very nice composition leaving lots of room and showing habitat. Looking forward to some from the other side and hope you can get there.

This one looks alot nicer than the last one...The baclight looks great and I prefer this ones wing position..>I would also tone down that bright grass...Nice one!

Fantastic image, Jonathon. I just love the placement of the bird in the frame, the backlighting, and the inclusion of habitat. Big congrats from me!

    Cheers,
    Greg

Thanks for the encouraging comments. I went down to the marsh again today but no luck, just one high in the sky being harassed by a crow.
Apparently some idiots have been walking all over the marsh waving camera lenses and tripods about and even putting blinds up!! Anyhow hopefully they are going to return and I have the advantage of being able to go during the week being retired and all.
What? Smug, me? - you bet
