Taken this past April at a new favorite location of mine in Florida (one of many), St. Augustine Alligator Farm (aka Natural Rookery). Anyone considering a visit, I highly recommend it, especially during mating season. The place is crazy! I love photographing these guys. This one in particular is one of the favorite poses I captured of them. They are as much fun to photograph as they are to listen to while they make their "gurgling" sounds. Anyone that has been around them before can attest to what I am taking about. Thanks for looking, and as always C&C is always welcome.

    Josh:

Nice breeding colors, raised foot, punk hair do, typical snowy attitude shows through.

In a perfect world, would prefer him to be looking more towards us, for better eye contact, or turned more to the side so we could see his lores better to show off the nice breeding color scheme.

I might consider toning down the orange areas near his head just a bit.

I have not been to the Alligator Farm, but understand that getting clean backgrounds can be a challenge.

    Cheers

Nice! I'd love to visit that place someday. I've heard that backgrounds can be difficult there, but I certainly works for me here. I don't mind the pose at all as that head angle gives the 'do a spread-out like a fan look. Good job on the whites in what looks like already harsh light. You could tone down the reds near the head as per Randy, but super image.
