Dan, the first image was impressive for the unusual setting and good techs but with reduced impact due to the less than ideal HA...but this one is a much stronger image for the beautiful pose and perfect HA!! Great clean beach, nice low angle, and love the foot position. Great light too. I would only eliminate the faint streak touching the grebe's forehead. Way to go, this has two thumbs up from me!!

Daniel has echoed my thoughts perfectly. Just fix that streak by the head and you have yourself a 10 out of 10. I like the light and the raised foot,

The angle and light makes this image for me. Love the detail as well and nice clear surroundings.

    Superb!

This is a beautiful image, Dan. Love the curves, the light, that amazing eye, your low angle. My definite favorite of your series so far.
I'm a little distracted by the green thing behind the grebe. What is that? My eye keeps going to it, wondering what it is.
So glad to hear there is a happy ending!

I have to agree also with previous comments. Low angle, nice light, and connection with the subject is great. The dark oof streak does draw my eye a bit. The only other little thing I would wish for is just a bit more DOF (sand behind the bird is tack sharp, but at the front is just a bit soft) but honestly, that is of little consequence with such a nice pic!

Great shot Dan, I love this. I like this one even more so then the first Grebe you posted. The foreground and the elegant looking pose of this Grebe really make it for me.
