The pride were now closing the gap rapidly. (the other boy is just out of frame, upper left)
At this stage we were sure both knew they were being stalked, but they seemed to defiantly stand their ground.

    Hi Marc

Nice continue on the series, tension is going up. I think on this too you could cut top 1/4 of the image. And there is something disturbing just over the right lion. In itself maybe not a great image, but as a serie it tells the story of lions tactic. Next moment when the buffalo turns around the head and looks at the lions would be great to see.

Not quite sure what it is you're seeing? Have not touched this image (apart from crop + usual curves/level/USM in CS5) in any way?

    Marc,

The repost is much better, but I am not sure that the "concept" works for me, if only the nearest Lioness had more DOF but I guess that would have been impossible?

I could not disagree with this statement Ken.
I guess this is the problem one faces when telling a story via a series of images, not all will be really worthy on their own merits.
But I can promise you it will slowly warm up from the next submission.

    Marc,

Keeping us all in "suspenders" I see

For others an old "Carry On" joke.

    Marc,

An option for future images with subjects in different planes of focus is two images, each focused on the plane and overlayed in PS.

Marc, this series has me on the edge of my seat. As part of the series, the image works for me (ie viewed in context).
Perhaps crop the top and bottom to pano?
