Following Morkel's Blue Wildebeest, I captured this one at Rietvlei Nature Reserve recently. It was early morning and the sun was just breaking through cloud cover and mist.

I like the colors and the pano crop.

I hadn't realised they were so brown?? Has been a long while since I've seen this species
The pano crop suits here Pieter with good detail showing, BG could do with a touch of NR.

    Pieter,

A perfect example of the wonderfully entertaining moments that these animals can provide

On my monitor it looks a little too dark, I am basing this on limited sightings but should the tails and manes not be yellower?

I have taken the liberty of giving it a go mainly removing colour cast.

Thank you everyone for comments and input - greatly appreciated.
As a matter of interest, mature males are dark brown almost appearing black. Will be returning to the same venue in a couple of weeks and hope to get a good sighhting of these animals as they are really fun to watch particularly as they are most active early in the morning and late afternoon.
    Thanks
    Pieter

Pieter - Not sure that I have seen black wildebeasts so can't comment on the color. But you captured the action well and I like the pano crop.

I look forward to some mire of these fine animals, especially at "play"

Love the interaction here Pieter...I need to get to Rietvlei again as I've only ever had them quite far away from me...
Your OP is a bit blue/magenta and Ken's is perhaps just a tad too "warmed up" so I think the ideal is somewhere between the 2? The wildebeest also look a tad noisy given you were on ISO400 with the 40D?

Thank you Morkel, planning to be back at Rietvlei 12/13 December. Weather permitting, hope to get closer to them.
