    A spot billed pelican scouting around late evening

    Canon 450D, Sigma 150-500 OS @500mm, f8, 1/640, -2/3 EV, Evaluative metering

    Tamed highlights, use fill light, saturation, USM and contrast adjustments

    Would love to hear your thoughts on this :)

    Hi Hayath,

    I like this. Nice exposure and HA and you preserved the whites well. I'm not sure the reflection adds much to the scene and, if it were mine, I would probably crop most of that off and, thus, make the bird larger in the frame. You might consider cleaning up the water surface a bit as well. If you brighten up they eye a bit, it will draw more viewer attention to the face (a small amount of fill-flash might have helped here).

    Thank you Ian for that detailed feedback. Now looking back at the shot, the eye region does look very dull/dead.
    Reflection..well wanted to keep it since I thought the wavy look would break out nicely.

    lovely exp. agree about the reflection. not required as its not clear.
