Taken on Tibooburra Road near Stephens Creek just north of Broken Hill. Had stopped at this spot to try for Chirruping Wedgebills which I had saw earlier in the month and here were a family of White-winged Fairy-wrens and no Wedgebills.
While brightly coloured in the field not that easy to spot. The species occurs over much of Australia's arid interior.

Seen these guys out in the Sturt Desert - one of my top five australian birds. Just so blue. Well done getting this guy in the open, much more shy than the females of the species.

A spectacular image - I have never seen this bird before, love the colours and the detail, the composition has me dithering a little. The bird appears to be rather central but I can see why, the long tail on the right and the twig going off to the left. I wonder if it worthwhile considering cloning the twig to the left of the bird and then recomposing?

How sweet is he? Love the fluff and colors. I like that you left the webs on the perch

That is an amazing color and when seen in that arid climate it must really stand out. Good for you to get such a clear shot.

Love the incredible blue color and the great pose and perch. The spider webs give the image that little something extra.
