Western Gull preening

Thought I would share this one in the final days of celebrating the beauty of gulls. This one is at LaJolla, CA back in October.

I love the preening pose with the feather solidly clamped between the mandibles and the eye just peeking out. Man, you got that pose nailed!! I do find the image a bit strong on the contrast though, but colours, perch, BG, comp all look fine.

Like the preening pose, but do wish we had a better look at the eye. Agree with Daniel about the contrast.
