    Default Merganser in spot light

I got this photo today in SF Golden Gate park thanks to the tip from my friend Conrad. To create the spot like effect I waited until sun was behind the clouds then I used flash as main light rendering the BG dark. I hope you like it

    Very nice effect, Arash.
I would take a bit off the bottom, right below the second white reflection.
    A personal preference,
    great IQ, smooth as silk.
Very nice job not blowing the whites with the flash, easy to do, and you avoided it.
    Well done.

Wouldn't change a thing Arash! You used the flash for a very cool effect. Whites do seem a little bright on the hood though.

Arash, good flashwork here. The blacks have come out nicely, as with the rest of the colours. I like the raised tail, and the darker BG really makes this pop.

Good thinking with the flash - very powerful effect having a blacked out BG. Interesting looking bird.

Great light technique and I like how it sparkled the water droplets on the rear

I really like the vision to see the shot and then the experience and ability to go and do it. It's a lovely photo and something different.

Everything about this photo works for me, your vision was excellent, and I really enjoy the flash-work to execute the shot. Very nice!
