Sweet light indeed, and a wonderful pose here. Really like those wings raised fully. Great detail and IQ. There may be a hot spot under the right wing there but I'm not sure. Overall a super shot!

    Arno:

Lovely bird, sharp, well exposed, nice angle in frame. Well timed.

The clouds add interest to the sky.

If you have it, a touch more room below would work for me.

Just the faintest sharpening halos around the upraised wings ( at the top)

    Cheers

Most points raised already - I do like the clouds and the slight towards us HA makes a difference. These herons seem to have shorter beak that the ones we have over here. Image certainly gives the sense of lift off about to happen.

First thought that came to mind....WOW. Fantastic job on this one. Great detail, really like the lurching forward pose at the moment of flight you captured. The full wingspread is a bonus too. Nice job on this one Arno.

Lovely pose, sharp with good detal. White on side of the body looks hot to me though.

Hi Arno, really soft light here, which in turn has brought out the colours nicely. Overall, nice and sharp, and just love the sky BG. I hope you have the next frame leaving the perch.

Excellent pose, light and sharpness, Arno. The head angle is sweet too and the sky BG works perfectly for me. Whites possibly a tad hot on my crappy monitor. Very nice image overall.
